Chinatown New Year Celebrations 2016: 9th International CNY Lion Dance Competition

Calling out to all lion dance enthusiasts! The 9th International CNY Lion Dance Competition is back on Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th January, taking place at Hong Lim Park.
The competition will run from 6pm-11pm and is in its 9th year. A total of 14 top lion dance troupes from eight countries around the region will compete, including Singapore!
Who will claim the coveted title of ‘King of the Lions’?
Go down to Hong Lim Park this weekend to find out! Hear it roar with the rhythmic beat of drums and cymbals, and watch the exciting performances and jaw-dropping stunts carried out by the participating troupes on the meihuazhuang.
Also in attendance will be Dr Lily Neo, Adviser to Jalan Besar GRC Grassroots Organization (Kreta Ayer-Kim Seng).
